After several years of consecutive plowing and at the depth of plowing (usually 30-40 cm), the clay particles accumulate and form a compact clay horizon, which is impermeable to water. Water puddles appear on the surface of such soil, and the trampled soil layer formed is so hard that the root system of plants can hardly break through it (we know that corn, soybeans and wheat go deep and well over 1 m). In such cases, deeper plowing with the rotary plow is not recommended, because it brings the bad soil to the surface and throws the good soil to the bottom of the furrow.
